Hawk Ridge County Park

Hawk Ridge is a 167 acre property that sits near Brincka Cross Gardens. Porter County Parks and Recreation acquired the parcel in 2017 through a series of grants. This amazing property offers and opportunity for the Parks Dept. to develop a habitat that supports the many migratory birds that fly over Lake Michigan during their twice annual journey.

Indiana DNR conducted a bird survey in the fall of 2014. That survey of a 1.44 mile transect locating fall migrating birds on various habitats throughout the property indicated that the property will serve as a “migratory re-fueling” site for over 30 different species.

The property contains approximately 60 acres of native deciduous secondary hardwoods, 60 acres of forested wetlands and 47 acres of former agriculture fields.

Currently, there are no rental spaces available at Hawk Ridge Park.
