Brincka Cross Gardens: Our Hidden Gem

Looking for a beautiful, quiet park off the beaten path? Brincka Cross Gardens is the perfect spot for a walk or hike as we move from spring into summer. This park is located close to the Indiana Dunes National Park and has unique gardens and wooded walking trails.

The park is rich with history and creativity connected to its original owners, William Brincka and Basil Cross. Brincka, a botanical artist, created a beautiful haven in Brincka Cross Gardens where art and nature come together. You can read more about the history by clicking here, or by visiting the park and taking in the signs along the trails.

The trails are laid out in concentric circles, with a little over a mile total in distance. It’s especially beautiful in the summer, with the trees returning to a vibrant green after a long winter.

In the past couple of years, we have seen the impact and benefits that spending time in nature have on our mental health, especially during the pandemic. If you need a quiet place to walk, paint, hike, run, have a picnic, or even just to get away for a while, we invite you to venture out to the beautiful Brincka Cross Gardens.

We’re proud to serve our community, and we hope that our parks can become like a home away from home for you. We call Brincka Cross Gardens our “hidden gem.” It really is a special place – peaceful and tucked away – right here in Porter County. Check out our other parks by clicking here.
